Role purpose:


The purpose of the role is to create, monitor and optimize a financial reporting structure regarding public funding projects for the Vodafone Tech Innovation Center Dresden. In addition all relevant accounting rules for funding and project accounting for IFRS and local GAP need to be ensured by that role. All audit and EU fund requirements need to be fulfilled. You work with stakeholders across the Vodafone Group and external partners to achieve a consistent, reliable and long term financial backbone for R&D and innovation projects. Vodafone has identified that addressing public funding in the EU and on national level is important in general and addressing public funds is a key element of the Vodafone Tech Innovation Center Dresden. Therefore you evaluate potential projects, deliver the financial aspects of funding applications and overview the reporting of the projects. You report to the Senior Manager Strategic Development & Communications on the effectiveness of his/her controls and steps required to achieve compliance with internal and external standards.

 

What will you be doing?

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Evaluate suitable public funding calls and financial fit with Vodafone functions and Center Management team and prepare proposals
  • Organize funding projects with external stakeholders in consortia
  • Support ongoing improvement to processes, controls and reporting across all transactions
  • Monitor the operation of processes and controls across the Vodafone Group and support in meeting internal control standards and regular measurement of their effectiveness.
  • Adopt all relevant accounting rules for funding and project management (IFRS/HGB)
  • Align with Tax and Group Reporting on TLS funding requirements
  • Establish a profound reporting for audits and other requirements related to EU funds

 

It would be nice if you have:

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Successful university degree and at least 5 years of experience in finance departments or in audit and consulting companies, preferably in the telecommunications or infrastructure sector
  • Experience in setting up and running public funded research projects, ideal on EU level and German level (BMBF,BMDV, Bundesländer)
  • Highly skilled in analysing and designing business and/or IT processes and controls
  • Excellent English and German writing skills and communications skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
    Analytical-minded, hardworking, innovative, adaptable, team player and leader

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • Expertise in Accounting, Tax and IFRS and German local GAP
  • University graduate, preferably from Business Administration, Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Mathematics etc.
  • Preferable good knowledge and experience in SAP and BI tools

This position may be full-time or part-time (minimum 30 hours).
